How My Journey Forged a Path Towards Wellness

Over a decade ago, I left behind my sedentary desk job. I pursued a fitness career as a BASI Pilates teacher and later incorporated vinyasa yoga into my teaching skill set. I recently rounded out my fitness credentials with Personal Training and Health Coaching certifications from ACE.

The initial shift happened in my late thirties while I was regaining my health after years of slow weight gain and toxic overload from bad food, stress, lack of sleep, minimal exercise, and environmental toxins. Then, I was at a crossroads, having to make a financial decision of whether to return to the kind of full-time desk work that had robbed me of my athletic dancer physique and overall well-being or take a chance on my new path of health through exercise and nutrition.

Now, in my fifties, I'm incredibly grateful to have had the courage and means to choose a career in health and wellness through physical fitness so I can share with others how lifestyle changes can enhance life.

While pursuing my professional certifications, observation of my fitness progression and experience in working with clients revealed a startling possibility, backed up by the leading researchers in women's biochemistry:

Many fitness and nutrition plans do not ultimately work for women because they may not consider our natural female physiology and hormonal cycle.

Hormone Powerhouse

I don’t turn exercise into a chore of calorie expenditure as punishment for what you ate or to earn an indulgent reward.

Weight loss occurs when you bring your body into a more balanced and energized state.

Understanding and taking into account your hormonal cycle is the piece many of us are missing in unlocking the secret of attaining this balanced state.

Movement Powerhouse

Good health can improve physical appearance, such as being less flabby and more toned in specific areas.

My training approach targets health, balance, posture, and function as the primary goals, with cosmetics as a nice side effect.

Feel good in your body in every session instead of beating yourself up over those pesky upper arm flaps or whatever physical flaw may be nagging at you.

It is how you carry and support yourself that matters.

Nourish Your Powerhouse

Movement is not just exercise but a form of meditation that quiets the mind while focusing the body on a challenging task.

Through movement, we can genuinely listen to our bodies' needs, let go of old perceptions, and make room for new physical and mental patterns.

By listening closely to your physical needs for nutritious food and adequate exercise, you can discover what will be genuinely nourishing on your unique journey.
